The SATI 605

The development of the Sati SE amp started 15 years ago with the use of Torroidal (transformer

core as a ring with a fine cut within so the  current can run through it with no saturation in

the core), the result was very good, superior to  double C core and the cheap EI core). The critic

had all ways said that it was no good for output transformer use and for SE amp.

At first glance wa saw that its specifications where state of the art, more linear than all the

other types there is in use no matter of cost. Specification like 2 hz to 100.000 hz -3db had

we never seen before. Lower insertion los, under 0.1 % was also the  case. But the question was,

how did it sound. It was easy to tell, never had we heard  so good bas control, never had we heard

so fine resolution in the midrange and never had we heard such extended and realistic treble.

The greatest problem with the use of torriodal transformer is there cost and complicated

production process. But there was no turning back the SATI had found its ideal transformer.

On the circuit  level we have only used the best but also most expensive layout. In the separate

power supply  there is used  two tube rectifiers (silicone rectifiers is a bad sound choice) and

the tubes are  in direct connection to a choke (not the cheap solution, capasitor input) we find in

95% SE amps on the marked) The quality of sound is huge i favor of the choke input, after

the first choke follow another choke with a capacitor in between and another capacitor  in the

This solution guarantee very good control of all frequencies without no hiss or hum whatsoever.

In fact  we have never heard another SE amp so quiet as the SATI.

Another fine thing is that also the heather supply is a choke input layout, this gives  added timbre

realism to the overall sound, its free from semiconductors, only the rectifiers is solenoids.

The SATI is deliberately build not as two mono amps because we found out that a stereo lay out

has greater natural timing when both channels had the same power supply.

The play electronics  is connected to the power supply with a super strong high tension and

current  cable. The amplification starts with two preamp valves (nos phillips 6sn7 triodes) chosen

for  very good natural sound with a  silver M-caps  in between  them and between them and the

eml 1605 tubes. The 6sn7 is running at higher voltage than usual which gives  ultimate

dynamics and resolution.

From  2007 we  improved the  output transformers with the use of the high tech transformer core

called NANOCRYSTALLINE. Every layer in the transformer core is very thin, much thinner than any

other core material. The Nanocrystalline has fantastic permeability properties, it can change

direction  of magnetism faster than anything else and that is why this material has a  ideal super

high speed hysterese curves.

The development of the nanocrystalline torriodal  SE output transformer brought the SATI music

performance to  higher level, the insight in natural timbre in instruments, its holografic

presentation of perspective, its transparency, its firm control is unsurpassed.

We where now satisfied with the performance of the output section but one thing in the amp was

not op to the level we wanted, the level of existing volume control, both in terms of  attenuators

(regardless of resistor in use) also the normal carbon volume control was not up to standard, also

the existing transformer made controls had the quality we wanted). First with the development

of the nannocrystalline torroids  volume control , we found answer to what we wanted, the SATI

nanocrystalline volume control gave a fantastic improvement, it was simply the best in the world

no matter of cost.

This gave us a fantastic sounding amp, the amp is not cheap but its much cheaper than rather

many very higher priced amps out there, We think the SATI 1605 SE AMP is a real bargain.
